Who are we?

We are Thames Valley Horticultural Society and we meet on the last Thursday of every month at 7.45pm.  We meet at Christ Church Hall in Kenilworth Gardens in Staines, Middlesex and have a visiting speaker normally with a slide show together with monthly competitions, a raffle and free tea and coffee.

Every year we hold three shows, Spring, Summer and Autumn.  We have a Plant Sale in May where we sell annual, perennial and vegetable plants and we also have home made cakes and books and bric a brac

Our society was founded in 1946 and today has approximately 110 members of varying ages and abilities, one member being a founder member.   As a society we are involved in local events and have carried out bulb planting around Staines in conjunction with Civic Pride, we have sponsored trees and contributed to hanging baskets to Spelthorne in Bloom. Some of our members have been involved in local schemes in schools etc. In 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 we were accepted to construct Gardens in the Chelsea Flower Show and were twice the proud winners of a Silver Medal.
